This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
The app stores your pilot name and settings, flight log entries, preflight checklist results, training plans, exercise completion and reminder choices on your device. A flight entry can include its date, duration, altitude, speed, weather and notes that you enter. When synchronization is available, the app sends flight entries and training plans to its backend. The app creates a random installation token on your device and keeps it in Keychain; the server stores a SHA-256 hash of that token to separate installations. The exercise library is public. The backend host may process connection information such as IP address, request path, time and technical error details as part of serving requests. The app does not ask you to create an account or provide an email address.
How we use information
Local records let you keep a flight journal, plan practice, complete checklists, view progress and schedule reminders. The backend stores synchronized flights and training plans so that this installation can retrieve them when connected. The public exercise library lets the app refresh educational exercise content and cache it for offline use. The installation token is used only to authorize access to this installation's synchronized records. Connection and error information is used to operate and troubleshoot the service.
Service providers and sharing
The backend and its PostgreSQL database run on Railway, which processes hosted data and service traffic to provide infrastructure. Network providers involved in connecting your device to the service may handle technical routing information. We do not add an advertising, analytics, email delivery, map or customer relationship service to this product. We do not publish your flight records or training plans to other installations. The public exercise library contains no personal flight history. If you export a CSV file, the iOS share sheet lets you choose its destination; any sharing is initiated by you, and this app does not operate the receiving service.
Data retention
Local records remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app, subject to your device and backup settings. Synchronized records remain in the active server database until you delete individual records or use the app's delete-all-data action. The server does not impose an automatic expiry on active synchronized records. Railway infrastructure may retain backups or operational logs under its own settings and policies; this app cannot promise an exact removal time for those copies. Losing the installation token can make server records inaccessible because this product has no account recovery or device transfer feature.
Deleting your information
You can delete individual flights and plans in the app. The delete-all-data action immediately clears the local journal, plans, checks and settings, then requests DELETE /account to remove that installation’s active server records. If the device is offline, server deletion remains pending and is retried when the app next connects; the installation token stays in Keychain only until server deletion succeeds, then is removed. The app does not claim remote deletion is complete before that response. Removing the app alone cannot send a server deletion request. For questions about inaccessible server data or backup copies, use the privacy contact address below; identifying a lost token’s records may not be possible.
Permissions and your choices
Training reminders use local notification permission. You can deny or later withdraw that permission in iOS Settings; the journal and exercise library remain available. You can edit or delete your local entries. Network access is needed to refresh exercises and synchronize records, but core journal, checklist and progress features work offline. The app does not request location or map access.
Your privacy rights
You can review, edit and delete records through the app and request information about privacy practices using the contact address below. Rights available under applicable law may include access, correction, deletion or objection; requests are assessed under the law that applies to you. Because there is no account, we may need the installation token or other information sufficient to identify the records in question, and recovery may be impossible after it is lost. The contact address is for privacy requests and is not an in-app messaging feature.
Security
The app keeps its random installation token in iOS Keychain and sends it to the backend over HTTPS. The backend validates the token, stores only its hash, and scopes database reads and writes to that installation. Railway provides the hosting environment and PostgreSQL storage. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security. Avoid placing information in free-text notes that you do not want synchronized.
Children’s privacy
Airship Sports Mentor is designed for adult sport pilots and trainees, not for children. It does not intentionally ask children to create accounts or submit personal information. If you believe a child has supplied information through the app, contact us using the address below so we can review the request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app's features, data handling or service providers change. A revised page will show a new effective date at this same /privacy address. Material changes should be reflected in the app before affected processing begins. You can review this page from the app's settings.
